Granville Court provides a home for people with a profound and multiple learning disability and associated complex healthcare needs.

We are looking for 1.8 inspiring people to join our team to enhance the lives of people with a profound and multiple learning disability.

The NHS Humber Teaching Trust is looking to recruit an Apprentice Healthcare Worker role.

As a Trust, we see the value in supporting the development and progression of our people through apprenticeship pathways, combining vocational learning with on-the-job experience whilst you work closely with your new team to gain the essential skills, knowledge and behaviours for this new role. The duration of this apprenticeship will be 15-18 months and on successful completion you will progress into a Band 3 Healthcare Worker role.

Main duties of the job

You will be working as part of a multi- disciplinary team alongside both learning disability and adult nurse to enable residents to live a life well lived and loved. Supporting with the nurse a large team of caring and compassionate care workers.

You will be supported through both the apprenticeship scheme and bespoke induction to develop the unique skills required for a Healthcare assistant within the home and you will be given time to undertake this level of training required.

As part of the clinical support at the home the hours are 07:00 to 19:30 and 19:30 to 07:00 with an expectation that you are able to available to work both shift patterns, flexible working will be considered to meet the need of the home.

You will also be joining us at an exciting time for the home as we will be temporarily moving to Hawthorne Court in Beverley to enable major building works at the site to enhance our residents lives.

Experience

  • Experience of working with people with a PMLD

This change supports exiting NHS employees to undertake a formal apprenticeship programme which, upon completion, would qualify them for a role where the evaluated pay band is the same or higher than the band of their current post.
