The delivery and support of digital technology at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust is fundamental in enabling staff to provide excellent and safe patient care. The Trust has invested significantly in digital technology and the rapid increase of electronic patient record systems being deployed has created a greater need for further Patient Systems resource to provide first line support to service users.

Main duties of the job
The post requires efficient, caring and proactive individuals with an appreciation and understanding of the confidential nature of the work. Applicants will be providing first line support and assistance for using helpdesk software to patient systems service users (full training on patient systems and helpdesk software will be provided). The successful candidates should be able to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail, be excellent communicators with good IT and telephone skills and have the ability to meet deadlines on a daily basis whilst maintaining a positive approach, and providing a quality service that supports our patient care.

This is an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic, customer-focused individuals to join the Patient Systems Team and support both business-as-usual and ongoing projects. You will provide specialist knowledge and support to system users, be committed to service delivery and continual customer-focused improvement.
Person specification
- Educated to diploma level or equivalent or equivalent experience
- Service Desk qualifications or training
- Understanding of ITIL process and procedure
- Knowledge of electronic patient record systems used for the provision of patient care
- Good documentation skills and ability to create user guides and basic training material
- Ability to work on own initiative and also effectively as part of a team in a customer-focused environment
- Able to analyse and identify then resolve a variety of issues e.g. system errors, user problems
- Knowledge & experience of remote control & support software
- Ability to diagnose and fault find issues between hardware, software, application, and network
- Experience of national NHS systems, E-mail, SPINE
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
