The predicted salary is between 14500 - 17000 ÂŁ per year.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable person to join and become part of our team. Your duties will include general cleaning of the patients ward, public and staff areas as set by your allocated cleaning schedule. You will be required to work to, and maintain standards as set by the NHS National Cleaning Specifications. Enthusiasm and dedication to provide a clean safe environment is essential. Training will be given.
Shift pattern: Week one: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday 08.00-13.00. Week two: Monday to Friday 08.00-13.00. (This shift pattern may be subject to change). Weekend shifts are paid at the current NHS additional enhanced rate of pay.
Main duties of the job
- Follow cleaning specifications and use appropriate equipment and materials.
- To carry out floor maintenance i.e. mopping & displaying “wet floor” warning cones. Shampoo carpets and corridor mats on a systematic basis.
- Removing waste and clinical waste bags ensuring correct bags and procedures are followed.
- Use chemicals/cleaning agents in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. To only use chemicals which are supplied by the Trust and store under lock and key ensuring COSHH regulations are adhered to.
- Undertake deep clean, clinical clean, admission and infection cleans as required by infection control procedure including removal, laundering, and hanging of curtains.
- Wear the protective clothing and uniform supplied by the Trust, maintaining a neat and tidy appearance and high standards of personal hygiene.
Person specification
- General education including literacy and numeracy.
- An understanding of the importance of health and safety.
- An understanding of the importance of hygiene.
- Experience in a similar role or industry.
- Understanding of written & verbal instruction.
