Nursing Associate - District Nursing in City of Westminster

We are looking for a committed and compassionate Nursing Associate to join our multi‑professional team. This role works closely with Registered Nurses and other clinicians to assess, plan, organise and deliver high‑quality clinical care that meets individual patient needs and service priorities. Nursing Associates provide holistic, person‑centred care across the lifespan and across all fields of nursing, supporting people of all ages in a variety of care settings. The role combines independence and accountability, while working under the leadership and supervision of Registered Nurses and within the nursing scope of practice. Main duties of the job:

• Deliver safe, effective and compassionate person‑centred care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Contribute to the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for people with a range of health needs, including long‑term and complex conditions.
• Monitor physical and mental health, recognise deterioration and elevate concerns appropriately.
• Administer medication in line with Nursing Associate guidelines and organisational policy.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and use clinical systems in accordance with Trust requirements.
• Communicate effectively with service users, families, carers and multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Promote dignity, equality, inclusion and safeguarding in all aspects of care.
• Support risk management, incident reporting and quality improvement activities.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary working, service development and patient experience initiatives.
• Support and supervise learners and colleagues, acting as a positive professional role model.
• Maintain professional competence through ongoing learning, reflective practice and adherence to the NMC Code.

Education/Qualification:

• Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the team and the organisation, and how the role contributes to service development.
• Relevant clinical skills in the area of work.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal, non‑verbal communication) with patients/relatives, carers and other members of the multi‑disciplinary team.
• Ability to organise and prioritise own workload effectively.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to support, supervise and act as a role model to nursing associate students, other learners and health care support workers as required within the clinical setting.

Key Attributes:

• Ability to analyse, interpret and record data in a clear, and succinct manner.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience:

• Previous experience of working within a health/care setting in the field of area applied for.
• Relevant experience of working self‑directed or as part of a team.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
