An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Nursing Support Worker to join the Hepatology team at Glangwili Hospital. The post is for 15 hours per week. The post holder will work as part of a team of nurses and will be required to carry out a range of duties in relation to Fibroscan clinics and will be supervised by a registered nurse.

Due to service developments, there may be an occasional need to work in other sites, and being able to travel between sites is an essential part of the role.

Main duties of the job:

  • To work as part of the Hepatology team, delivering care to patients, undertaking delegated tasks with appropriate supervision from a registered healthcare practitioner.
  • Contribute to delivering a high-quality service for patients with liver disease and their families, with an aim to achieve equity of health outcomes, following the Liver Disease Implementation Network.
  • To provide clinic support for the Hepatology Fibroscan service, including undertaking the Fibroscan and completing the relevant documentation involved in the running of the clinic.

Person specification:

Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • Essential Level 3 qualification in a health care related subject or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales and All Wales Delegation Guidelines (HEIW).
  • Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures within a healthcare setting.

Experience:

  • Experience of working within a relevant health or social care environment, providing direct patient care.
  • Experience of working with patient groups relevant to area of practice.
  • Experience of working within the NHS.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
