Job overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced support worker to join the paediatric physiotherapy team based in our special schools and children’s centres in Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. You will deliver rehabilitation programmes to patients within a community or school setting and assist with ordering and managing equipment across the service. A full and comprehensive training programme will be available. The successful applicants will demonstrate an interest in rehabilitation. Excellent communication skills are key, and you should be a team player with a positive outlook, enthusiasm and ability to learn and develop new skills. Previous experience in rehabilitation in hospital or community settings would be advantageous.
Main duties of the job
Principally to provide a service, under the direction of a registered practitioner, to children and young people across our community and school services. You will work with direction to assist the registered practitioner in clinical and administrative duties following a specific competency-based training and development programme. You will independently carry out routine treatment programmes to both individuals and groups which have been delegated by a registered practitioner. You will progress within guidelines laid down by the registered practitioner. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
- Good general education, numeracy and literacy to at least GCSE level
- NVQ3 level or equivalent
- Evidence of further education e.g. relevant NVQs, sport science degree
- Agored Diploma in Physiotherapy support

- Healthcare work
