Join our superb team of volunteers! We know just how much our wonderful volunteers can improve a patient’s experience here at Addenbrooke's or the Rosie hospitals. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals who have a caring attitude and a commitment to supporting the Trust’s Values, Together - Safe, Kind, Excellent.
We understand that it can be an anxious time for patients when they are spending time on a hospital ward, so we are looking to expand our team of ward volunteers to be a friendly face who can spend some time with patients and help improve their time in hospital. Please note, this role is volunteering.
Main duties of the job:
- Socially interacting with patients
- Assisting serving food and drinks at meal times
- Handing out activity packs to patients that would like one
- Assisting with other tasks such as getting patients something they might need from the shops in the hospital

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
