Applications are invited for the posts of Clinical Fellow Higher (ST3-5) in Medical Oncology at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. These posts are available to commence from 04 March 2026 until 01 September 2026.

Main duties of the job

These posts are suitable for doctors who have completed their Core General Medical Training and wish to pursue a career in Medical or Clinical Oncology (posts are equivalent to ST3 level Oncology Common Stem). There will be opportunity to see inpatients and outpatients and participate in multi-disciplinary meetings for the management of solid tumours. Participation in research and audit projects is strongly encouraged. The posts are based in the Oncology department of Addenbrookes Hospital.

Please note that this post does not carry Postgraduate Dean’s approval or training recognition. Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at point of application is required.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC’s Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.

Person specification

  • Agreement that the following criteria has been met (MBBS, 12 months NHS experience)
  • Completion of a minimum of 24 months of core medical training or equivalent, including oncology experience
  • Completion of Foundation Competencies
  • Able to deal with general emergency admissions (on-call)
  • You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
