Job overview: An excellent opportunity for a motivated pharmacist at Band 6 or Band 7 to join our Pharmacy team at the Highcroft site, Erdington. You will provide clinical pharmacy services, rotate through various service areas, and gain experience in mental health pharmacy.

Main duties of the job:

  • Provide education, audits, drug information, and medicines management advice to service users, carers, and healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in pharmacy‑based and trust‑wide projects.
  • Support the out‑of‑hours cover rota.
  • Work with a team of 110 patients across in‑patients, forensic, community, and early intervention settings.
  • Gain experience in mental health pharmacy and, where required, complete a postgraduate certificate in psychiatric therapeutics (Aston University).

Qualifications:

  • Registered with the GPhC.
  • Member of RPS.
  • Certificate or diploma in psychiatric therapeutics.

Experience:

  • Experience in mental health services (preferred but not essential).
  • Hospital pharmacy experience is not required.

Empathy: Demonstrates empathy towards individuals with mental health conditions.

Training, DBS and induction: All successful applicants will complete the Trust’s induction programme and statutory and mandatory training (approximately 9‑14 hours online).
