Job overview
We are advertising for a Speciality Doctor in Emergency Medicine based at the Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The exact job plan will be negotiated annually with the post holder and take into consideration their career development needs and departmental needs. The position would be on a substantive contract.
Main duties of the job
We run two Emergency Departments on two sites – The Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital in Basingstoke and The Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester. We are renowned in the region for the excellent training and supervision we provide to our trainee doctors and in 2019 won the National Royal College of Emergency Medicine Award for Learning Environment of the Year. The Consultant body has current RCEM examiners and a recently developed Clinical Educators programme. There will be training and teaching package for all successful applicants and the opportunity to develop specific skills or areas of interest such as ultrasound, simulation, paediatrics and quality improvement amongst many others. There are also established relationships with allied specialties and some experience with the CESR programme and we would be very keen to support interested candidates to achieve Consultant level recognition from the Royal College via the CESR route.
