Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital provider in the Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System (ICS), which is a system of health and care partners working together for our local population. Within Mid and South Essex there are 149 GP practices, operating from over 200 sites, forming 27 Primary Care Networks and one Ambulance Trust.
Job overview
We are looking for an individual who has excellent people skills with experience in reception work, administration and telephone appointment centres. The perfect candidate will join our large, busy and friendly Radiology Admin Team. The role will include performing specialised reception cover, booking specialised Imaging appointments and administrative duties, also dealing with queries face to face and over the phone. You will be front line in meeting and welcoming patients, visitors and staff to the department and therefore you must be confident in dealing with people at all levels. This role will cover the Basildon Hospital site, which includes Orsett Hospital, Brentwood Community Hospital, St Andrews Billericay and Thurrock Community Diagnostic Center. The candidate must be able to travel to these sites.

Main duties of the job
The Job is 37.5 hours per week, we work various shifts over 5 days from Monday to Sunday, different shift patterns and weekend work applies to this role. Our department is open from 8am to 8pm, and an example of different shifts could be 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm, 10am-6pm, 12pm-8pm, all shifts will be on a Rota. The role will cover different reception areas and a call centre within the main Basildon site and 4 offsite locations where we run services, you will be required to travel to these sites.
This Role will be based at Basildon Hospital, but you may at times be required to cross site cover at one of our other Sites – Southend or Broomfield Hospital. The main duties of this role will include Reception work - checking in and out patients, dealing with patient queries, and booking appointments.

Person specification
Education:
- Good level of general education e.g. GCSEs or equivalent.
- Good literacy - demonstrated through minimal mistakes on application.
- Qualification in administration.
Experience:
- Experience of working with the public.
- Experience of working as receptionist in NHS or Healthcare environment.
