Role details

The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Specialist Sonographers to join the Imaging Team at the Community Diagnostic Hub at Finchley Memorial Hospital. You will be involved with the delivery of ultrasound services including gynaecological, general abdominal, small parts, paediatric and MSK ultrasound examinations. We pride ourselves in developing sonographers to Consultant level through various training and CPD opportunities; if you are an ambitious, experienced Sonographer seeking a flexible role, we would love to hear from you.

Please note that due to the practical nature of this role Skype/teams interviews will not be considered

Main duties of the job

You must be highly competent, willing to embrace modernisation and workforce development and keen to contribute towards efficient service delivery. A commitment to clinical teaching, professional development, audit and collaborative projects is required. You will have a minimum of two years post qualification with at least one clinical specialism to include MSK, Head and neck.

  • PGDip in medical ultrasound / DMU equivalent
  • Evidence of CPD

Experience

  • Significant experience of working at a band 7 level
  • Experience of working with clinical leads in specialist areas to develop services
  • Experience of working with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience across majority of main areas of US including gynaecology, abdominal, small parts, MSK

Skills and aptitudes

  • Demonstrates the ability to lead and work as part of a team
  • Ability to teach and mentor students and staff
  • Track record of audit and presentation of audit findings within a team
  • Patient and safety focused
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including Consultants, Sonographers, Midwives, GP’s, Nurses and other Health care workers when discussing patient management

  • An understanding of local and national guidance relevant to medical ultrasound
