Group Corporate Governance Business Officer

Job overview
The post holder will work as part of the Group Corporate Governance Team, led by the Group Chief Corporate Affairs Officer & Company Secretary to establish, develop and maintain arrangements and procedures for the sound corporate governance of each Trust within the Group.
This will include ensuring that meetings within the Group Governance and Assurance Framework at site level, and other significant meetings, have robust administration in place and that Trust policies and procedures are followed to ensure compliance with the respective terms of reference.
The post is based across our hospital sites, with a need to travel to all hospitals within the University Hospitals of Liverpool Group as and when required, with a degree of flexible working and the opportunity to work from home.
Main duties of the job
The post holder must be able to demonstrate a high degree of competence with regard to a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties including the use and application of information technology. It is essential to possess excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to manage own workload with the minimum of supervision, and to work to tight deadlines.
The post holder will support the Corporate Governance Team in ensuring that meetings within the Governance and Assurance Framework are properly constituted with clear terms of reference. They will be responsible for the preparation of agendas and minutes, taking appropriate follow-up action as required for all meetings within the Governance and Assurance Framework as identified. This includes (but is not exhaustive to) the following:
- Ensuring that all papers are collated, quality checked, formatted and circulated.
- Compiling an assurance report for submission to the parent group.
- Ensuring all actions relevant to the appropriate meetings are circulated to the associated lead(s) following the meeting and followed up for response in a timely manner.
- Liaise and negotiate with all levels of staff across the organisation to ensure papers are received within required timeframe.

The Royal Liverpool University Hospital is the largest hospital in the country to provide inpatients with 100% single bedrooms and focuses on complex planned care and specialist services.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- To maintain terms of reference for all hospital site-level governance meetings.
- To implement effective systems for developing and managing the forward plan and agenda for each Group.
- To coordinate the production of papers ensuring timely distribution of agendas and supporting papers for internal and external stakeholders.
- Preparation of agendas and minutes, taking appropriate follow-up action as required for all meetings within the Corporate Committee Structure as identified.
- Use various IT Microsoft packages and the Trust’s Board Portal system.
- General Administration Duties.

Qualifications
- Educated to GCSE/O Level standard/equivalent or higher
- NVQ 3/equivalent in relevant area of study
- ECDL
Experience
- Excellent I.T. skills with knowledge and experience of all Microsoft office packages
- Demonstrable experience in administration in either corporate governance or a similar field.

- An ability to work flexibly and adapt quickly to changes and proactively manage competing priorities, whilst using own initiative
- Ability to communicate professionally at all levels in a helpful courteous manner
- Ability to organise workload effectively and prioritise to meet deadlines
