We are looking to appoint experienced and accredited Anti-Crime Specialists to join the 360 Assurance bank. This is an opportunity to support NHS and wider public sector clients in the delivery of high-quality counter fraud or security management services, helping organisations prevent, detect and respond effectively to fraud, bribery, corruption, security breaches and related risks. The post holders will work with a high degree of autonomy, while remaining part of a supportive and experienced anti-crime team.

Applicants should be accredited as a Counter Fraud Specialist (or hold an equivalent qualification acceptable to NHS Counter Fraud Authority requirements) or be an experienced Local Security Management Specialist. You will need practical experience of counter fraud or security management work, strong investigative and analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities across a range of client environments. These bank roles would suit a professional who can work flexibly, independently and to a high standard, while maintaining confidentiality, discretion and a strong customer-focused approach. Travel to client sites across the Midlands and South Yorkshire may be required.

Main duties of the job:

• Deliver specialist assurance assignments, including audits, reviews, consultancy, training, workshops and project assurance, to agreed standards, timescales and budgets.
• Use specialist expertise to assess risks, controls, systems and processes, identifying good practice, weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
• Produce clear, evidence-based reports, briefings and presentations for senior managers, Executive leads and Board-level committees.
• Make practical recommendations that help clients strengthen governance, risk management, internal control, quality, safety and efficiency.
• Build effective relationships with internal colleagues and client stakeholders, providing credible advice, challenge and support.
• Plan and manage assigned work independently, maintaining professional standards, confidentiality, CPD and compliance with 360 Assurance methodology and policies.

We see on average 4810 OP appointments a day. We are the 4th busiest Trauma & Orthopaedic outpatients department in England – an average of 2077 per week. An average of 1115 patients are seen in A&Es across our network every day – 3rd largest in the country. Our hospitals admit an average of 195 emergency patients daily. Last year we undertook almost 33,700 planned surgical operations in our 57 operating theatres. We are one of only 7 Trusts nationally with more than 50 operating theatres. We carry out more than 140 elective procedures each working day. UHDB is a research active University Hospital with a large and varied portfolio of clinical trials and research opportunities for all staff.

Person specification:

• Two A levels or equivalent GCSE English Language & Mathematics at Grade C and above or equivalent.
• NHS Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist or similar counter fraud qualification acceptable to NHS Counter Fraud Authority (ie only requiring completion of their conversion course) eg Professionalism in Security (PINS) AND/OR NHS Accredited Local Security Management Specialist or similar security management related qualification.
• Proven Counter Fraud and/or Security Management work experience.
• Practical experience of undertaking fraud/security investigations.
