Job overview
We are looking for an experienced Nurse to join our team for a fixed 12 month contract at Croydon University Trust.
We are an integrated Sexual Health service and a Level 3 GUM/Family Planning and HIV Service. We are looking for someone who is motivated, enthusiastic and possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
We would expect you to have the ability to work and lead effectively amongst a multidisciplinary team across an innovative service. You will have safe practice skills and the associated knowledge, and be committed to your on-going professional development and that of the service at Croydon Integrated Sexual Health Clinic.

Main duties of the job
- To participate in ensuring the daily delivery of Integrated Sexual Health Services
- To liaise with the multi-disciplinary team including clinical and non-clinical staff.
- To support Nurse Led Clinical sessions including history taking and physical examinations of patients.
- Provide direct patient care, providing high quality nursing advice and clinical treatment on all aspects of STIs and sexual health.
- To adhere to the patient group directives (PGDs).

EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS
- RGN and registration with NMC
- BSc degree in nursing
- GUM qualification or course in STIs e.g. STIF
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
- Knowledge of Contraception and Sexual Health
- Understanding of NMC Code of Conduct and Professional Accountability
- Knowledge of current nursing issues
- Clinical audit
- Knowledge and understanding of national guidance and policy related to the development of an integrated sexual health service
- Knowledge of clinical governance
EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience of working on a ward
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience of working in Nurse Led clinics

- Ability to work independently, to make decisions and deal with conflict
- Good communications and interpersonal skills
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of standard setting and quality management
