This is a very exciting opportunity for a Ward Sister to join the team on Major Trauma Ward. We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join our Multi-disciplinary team, providing high quality nursing care within the acute setting on Major Trauma Ward. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, team working skills and dedication to improving the patients' experience. You will need to demonstrate continuing professional development and a strong commitment to develop others and work closely within a Multidisciplinary team.
Applicants must be 1st Level Nurses with evidence of demonstrable experience of working as a Band 5 or previous experience as a Band 6.
Main duties of the job:- You will support the ward manager to lead, provide and supervise a very high standard of compassionate care to our patients.
- You will be supporting the safety and quality agenda of patient care and staff management, ensuring that the values and objectives of the Trust are met, whilst improving patient outcomes.
- You will support the journey of the patient from admission to discharge, identify risk and formulate actions to reduce this risk and ensure patient throughput is effective.
- You will display excellent leadership and effective communication skills and be able to demonstrate a proactive, collaborative and innovative approach to the clinical environment, passionate about excellence in patient care.
- Qualifications: Registered Nurse, current NMC registration, Teaching and assessing qualification or equivalent.
- Experience: Evidence of management experience, Evidence of change management, Application of evidence-based practice, Evidence of developing high standards of patient care, Lead role in education of staff and patients.
- Knowledge: Application of current nursing issues and healthcare governance.
- Skills: Ability to work in changing environments, Basic IT skills, including e-mail and word processing.
- Other: Supportive of colleagues, High level of personal and professional credibility, Well motivated.
