Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust for a motivated Dietitian to work as part of the LiveWell team. LiveWell is a multi-disciplinary, multi-component cardiometabolic health assessment and structed preventative intervention service, for patients enrolled in psychosis early intervention services.

The initial provision of this protocol will be part of the Mental Health Mission Midlands Translational Centre, funded initially for 18 months, followed by an evaluation of services.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be responsible for:

  • Conducting comprehensive nutritional assessments (baseline, mid-pointand end of intervention)
  • Establishing and reviewingindividualisednutritional goals and intervention plans with patients and recording progress against goals
  • Leading structured group-based dietary education and intervention sessions across a 12 week program

Alongside the clinical aspect, the post-holder will have the opportunity to participate in service development, clinical audit, CPD opportunities and will play an active role in providing student training.

The post holder will be supported by senior members of the team, encouraged with professional development and will have access to regular management and clinical supervision to support development needs.

The department base is The Barberry Centre (Edgbaston, Birmingham) with the potential requirement to travel to Trust sites across the city. The post is 0.6wte (22.5 hours/3 days per week)

Person specification

  • Degree in Dietetics or equivalent diploma with registration
  • HCPC registration
  • Well rounded general clinical experience
  • Mental health clinical experience

You will be required to complete training modules online (approx. 9-14 hours depending on post) by the end of your second week with us.
