Baltic Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Permanent Warehouse Team Leader for a client located in Kirbymoorside. Working as part of a design and manufacturing team based at the facility in Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire which is part of a worldwide company with headquarters in Houston, USA. Their products are known worldwide for unrivalled quality and technical excellence utilizing a wealth of experience, delivering products that perform reliably in hostile environments.

Purpose: To lead all activities of the Warehouse and Distribution department and its team members, ensuring that inventory is received, stored, and distributed efficiently. The role is critical in maintaining productivity, optimising workflows, and ensuring compliance with safety regulation using MRP in accordance with the stock control procedures.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct the activities of the personnel assigned to the department, working in line with production, Procurement, Sales and other needs of the business.
  • Create and implement continuous improvements within the department.
  • Carry out all tasks in line with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Ensure the proper, safe and controlled storage/handling of materials.
  • Answer enquiries regarding stock and kitting from all areas of the business.
  • Control of stock adjustments within authorised value limits, elevating in a timely manner.
  • Control and organisation of company transport relating to warehousing, goods receiving & despatch.
  • Maintain inventory by managing Perpetual Stock Counting in accordance with company policy.
  • Keep inventory records for stock located within specified area.
  • Perform manual and clerical work in conjunction with the operation of the department.
  • Complete all necessary documentation as required (including timesheets, ECN and NCR).
  • Provide weekly/monthly reports as required using KPI's.
  • Perform other related duties as required as they pertain to material control and handling ensuring good housekeeping.
  • Ongoing review of processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Accountabilities (Deliverables):

  • Accurate input of information into MRP.
  • Ensure accuracy of picks to FIFO principles checking pick batch number accuracy, and as required perform shortage picks and housekeeping transactions in the system.
  • Ensure accuracy of despatching, check picks against kit list and packed appropriately for the goods outbound journey, taking account of any special requirements i.e. hazardous goods.
  • Fulfil ad-hoc driving needs to deliver/pick-up material or personnel as required.
  • Carry out job tasks safely using good working practices.
  • Measurable improvements to department process and output levels.
  • Maintain Inventory and compliance by arranging Cyclic Stock Counting in accordance with company policy.

Applicants:

Education / Qualifications (desirable): NVQ in stores and warehousing, Secondary education preferred.

Technical Competencies (essential): Accurate and thorough with the ability to work as part of a team, Numerate and detail oriented.

Key Skills (essential): Driven motivator and negotiator, Accurate and thorough with the ability to work as part of a team, Strong IT skills and MRP knowledge and experience, Full UK driving license.

Experience (essential): 3 years' experience in leadership and management, 5 years' experience in stores or warehousing environment, Experience in an SME manufacturing environment, Experience of stores handling equipment.

QHSE Competencies: Maintain behavior in compliance with requirements, Maintain responsibility and accountability through personal commitment and behavior, Report any unsafe or environmentally unsound acts and conditions to their immediate supervisor such that remedial action can be taken to manage the risk.
