The position of Business Development Associate within tranScrip supports the Business Development Manager in driving revenue growth through effective inside sales activities. This will include executing high-quality, multi-channel outreach campaigns and maintaining accurate data across tranScrip’s commercial tech-stack (Salesforce CRM, Apollo AI, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Loom, and related tools). The role will own day-to-day campaign execution, lead qualification and data hygiene, ensuring that every prospect interaction is timely, consistent and aligned with tranScrip’s values and strategic objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities- General
- Act as a brand ambassador, embodying tranScrip’s culture, vision, mission and core values of Trust-Based, Outward-Looking, Outcomes-Focused, Cutting-Edge and People-Oriented.
- Foster and contribute to an entrepreneurial, growth-oriented mindset within the BD team.
- Campaign Execution & Lead Generation
- Build targeted prospect lists in Apollo AI and LinkedIn Sales Navigator to support strategic outreach programmes.
- Launch, monitor and optimise multistep email, LinkedIn and phone sequences, ensuring messaging consistency across platforms.
- Perform initial qualification of inbound and outbound leads, scheduling discovery calls for the BD Manager and subject-matter experts.
- Sales Operations & Data Integrity
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate records in Salesforce, including contact details, campaign engagement, opportunity stages and next actions.
- Enforce data-quality standards (duplicate checks, field completion, GDPR compliance).
- Generate weekly pipeline and activity reports, highlighting campaign performance, conversion rates and areas for improvement.
- Collaboration & Handover
- Prepare meeting briefs and follow-up documentation to ensure seamless prospect-to-client hand-off.
- Support conference and event logistics (pre-event prospecting, on-site meeting scheduling, post-event follow-up).
- Market & Competitor Insight
- Track industry news, funding announcements and competitor activities; feed insights into targeting strategy and marketing content planning.
1–3 years in an inside sales, sales development, business development, or recruitment role, ideally within life-sciences services, CRO or B2B SaaS. Proven track record of running multichannel outreach campaigns and meeting activity targets.
Technical SkillsProficiency with Salesforce (or similar CRM), Apollo AI (or comparable sequencing platform) and LinkedIn Sales Navigator. Comfortable manipulating prospect data (Excel/Sheets, CSV imports, enrichment tools).
Commercial AcumenUnderstands consultative selling and can quickly grasp complex service offerings; able to articulate value propositions to senior scientific and commercial stakeholders.
CommunicationExcellent written & verbal skills; confident drafting outreach copy, building slide decks and presenting campaign metrics.
OrganisationStrong prioritisation and project-management abilities; able to juggle multiple campaigns and deadlines simultaneously.
