A rapidly expanding freight forwarding organisation is looking for a Sales and development professional, office based to sell and develop their Deep Sea, Air and also road freight services direct to clients over the phone. The ideal candidate will be a crucial link between BDMs and our customer service team, as well as gather sales leads and sell to clients over the phone. Ideally, candidates will have business they can bring with them (not essential).
GCSE or equivalent qualification A-C (4-9) in core subjects. Must possess Sea freight sales experience with some knowledge of air freight as we are looking to grow this area.
ROLE: Sea & Air Inside sales
LOCATION: Essex
BASIC SALARY: Β£35k to Β£37,500
Commission: Monthly commission
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify and source new business opportunities, leveraging your own leads and those provided by the Sales and Operations teams.
- Develop new sales across FCL/LCL sea freight, airfreight, and road freight, for both imports and exports.
- Operate flexibly, with responsibilities both in-office and in the field.
- Bring transferable business connections (advantageous but not essential).
- Prepare accurate quotations, ensuring the inclusion of all relevant terms and clauses.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- A minimum of 2 years experience in freight sales (sea, air, maybe road) within a freight forwarding environment.
- A proven track record in sales and business development.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the global freight industry.
- Exceptional negotiation skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly approachable demeanour.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- A collaborative and dynamic team spirit.
- Outstanding English and mathematics skills.
