A major UK & International Freight forwarding organisation are experiencing major growth and are looking to add three Customs Bureau Coordinators on a Temp to perm basis to their team. Customs, freight or logistics experience is nice to have but NOT essential. Please apply if you have worked in an office environment & have strong customer service, office and data entry skills as full training will be provided. The client is looking for hard working and enthusiastic candidates, who are looking to be fully trained to have a successful career in customs and freight forwarding.
ROLE:
- Ensuring full and satisfactory customer service.
- Ensure professional and courteous manner to clients at all times.
- Complete Customs procedures with total accuracy.
- Complete Customs Entries using a system called Ricardo for a new piece of business.
- Handle all delivery booking formalities.
- Generate accurate invoice to client for all shipment related charges.
Key Tasks
- Self Motivate & keep a high level of morale.
- Be prepared to cover the desk between 08:00 & 17:30.
- Assist staff training in aspects of day-to-day tasks & share knowledge where appropriate.
- Ensure flexibility for overtime.
- Handle any minor customer issues/disputes/complaints etc.
- Make Team Leader aware of any issues and/or any need for a visit.
- Follow check sheet guidelines for new customers to ensure they are implemented correctly.
- Attend any customer meetings as necessary.
- Identify additional areas/services we can sell to existing customers.
- Ensure you are up to date at all times.
- Support team with day-to-day work during times of sickness/holiday etc.
Customs
- Ensure all CFSP deadlines are met, both internal & those defined by Customs.
- Ensure accurate use of Customs tariff within the team to both increase efficiency & Customer service levels.
- Ensure entries are checked in detail following check sheets.
- Learn from issues raised by customs audits.
- Complete and update the C18/C285 process.
- Adequate knowledge of Ricardo. This will be trained.
Experience
Ideally some form of customs, freight or logistics knowledge would be an advantage as the role is to complete Customs Entries using a system called Ricardo for a new piece of business. However, the above experience is not necessary at all, as long as the person is enthusiastic, keen & wanting to learn in a fast-paced environment. Also must have office based and telephone-based customer service skills, accurate data entry skills & attention to detail.
