A major UK & International freight forwarding company are looking for a Sea - Ocean Import clerk with import sea freight experience to carry out quoting, booking, keeping customers updated, booking transport, clearance etc - from start to finish in most cases. The role of the clerk, sea Imports is to fully meet customers' expectations for safe and efficient transport of their products to the UK from worldwide destinations in accordance with company policy and procedures as well as statutory requirements.
ROLE: Sea Import clerk
BASIC SALARY: £27k to £37k
LOCATION: Merseyside
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use of Company In-House systems to complete Sea Import documentation and operational processes.
- Organise operational workflow to meet customer timeframes.
- Communicate effectively with the customer to obtain relevant information and ensure their needs are met.
- Ensure legislative compliance in all areas.
- Maintain Customer profiles.
- Resolve customer issues and escalate where support is needed.
- Liaise with sub-contractors to arrange carriage of goods from various worldwide destinations into the UK.
- Raise payable invoices to customers and overseas agents in accordance with agreed rates and tariffs, whilst monitoring financial Profit & Loss levels on own shipments.
- Complete all administration functions in accordance with company policy and procedures.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential: 3 years recent industry experience with previous involvement in worldwide sea freight Imports. They will be customer focused with dedication in their service delivery to customer service to meet our customer's needs.
