A major UK & International Freight Forwarding company is looking for an Administrator to provide admin help and assistance to their very busy road freight department. The ideal candidate must possess strong admin, organisational and communication skills.
ROLE: The role will focus on supporting our internal stakeholders and execution of various administrative tasks which support the handling of road freight shipments. The person we are looking for must be a good communicator, have a positive outlook and a clear focus on high job quality. The successful candidate will be responsible for and deal with day-to-day queries within the Road Freight division, investigating issues and liaising with other internal departments within the company.
The applicant must be a good problem solver, organised and punctual, inquisitive and motivated as well as have good attention to detail. The main purpose of the role is to assist the operational departments by resolving operational issues in real-time and answering questions and queries from overseas partners.
- Timely and effective communication with partners and internal departments via e-mail/telephone
- Updating/verifying the Transport Management System with customer booking details
- Liaise with operations and overseas offices to ensure customer commitments are delivered upon
- Effective daily monitoring to ensure collections and deliveries are completed within the agreed timelines
- Pro-active problem solving with customers and colleagues when issues arise
- Comply with and understand basic customs regulations when transporting freight to/from the UK
- General day-to-day administrative duties.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Ideally possess some freight, road or logistics or transport experience or knowledge; however, this is not essential. Strong admin, organisational and communication skills are essential.
