A major UK & International multimodal freight forwarding organisation is looking to add a business development manager to their team to sell their Ocean Freight services to clients throughout the North of England, to include the East & West Midlands, Staffordshire, Lancashire, Yorkshire up to and including Tyneside.
ROLE: Business Development Manager - BDM - Ocean Freight
SALES REGION: North of England, to include the East & West Midlands, Staffordshire, Lancashire, Yorkshire up to and including Tyneside.
BASIC SALARY: £50k to £70k
COMMISSION: Paid monthly based on every deal you secure.
BENEFITS: Car Allowance £500 per month, Pension, 25 days holiday
ROLE: To achieve ocean freight sales targets based on strategic business requirements through a mix of new and existing business. Support team members with coaching and performance management.
Duties and responsibilities:
- To build and develop relationships with new, lapsed and specified existing clients, mainly ocean freight.
- Face-to-face meetings to understand clients' needs in order to create the right solution.
- Achieve targets set by the business; financial, opportunity management, activities.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of customer opportunities to ensure continued success.
- Ensure client contact details are up to date using CRM system.
- Keeping up to date with key market insight and changes within the industry.
- Actively promote new service offerings to clients.
- Help with continued development of client journey improvements.
- Assist in arranging client entertainment when and where required.
This is a non-exhaustive list and will be expected to carry out any other reasonable request and duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Must possess a minimum of 5 years ocean freight sales or business development experience, be able to generate your own sales leads and close deals in face-to-face meetings.
