Overview
Reporting to the Director, Technical Services or delegate(s), the Rotating Equipment Engineer will provide comprehensive technical support to Depot, Field Service, and Customers to ensure TCT continues to provide best in class maintenance, repair, overhaul and testing services of General Electric (LM6000 and LM25 00) and Siemens AGT (formerly Rolls-Royce Energy, RB211 and Avon) aero derivative industrial gas turbines.
The role requires a diverse skill set, cross-functional collaboration, and exceptional communication skills.
Additionally, the position requires significant technical knowledge of Industrial Gas Turbines (Industrial/Aero) machinery from both a theoretical and practical perspective.
Requires a strong commitment to quality and a proactive approach to continuous improvement using TCT’s internal Management Systems.
Responsibilities
The duties will include but will not be limited to the following
- Provide internal technical guidance for Depot, Test Cell, Commercial and Field Service teams.
- Assist with developing work scope documents for scheduled maintenance and unscheduled repairs to gas turbine equipment.
- Provide day-to-day project interface for assigned field service contracts.
- Provide technical guidance on work scope revisions to ensure repair/overhaul scopes are managed effectively to meet customer expectations.
- Work closely with all technical staff, field service, and project managers to promote best practices and compliance with defined polices, processes and work procedures.
- Provide technical support to customers including troubleshooting of a broad range of site issues including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and other operational issues as they arise.
- Provide technical guidance to Commercial team including recommendations on engine performance and emissions guarantees based on plant site operating permits and requirements.
- Participate in Customer Complaints/Warranty investigations including failure analysis and investigations.
- Author and present technical reports based on investigation findings and conclusions.
- Take ownership of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) technical data to ensure effective management and implementation of engine modifications, service bulletins etc.
- Ensure company technical and quality standards are developed and rigorously applied throughout the business in order to develop a best-in-class product/service.
- Positively contribute to the internal audit program including system audits and special process audits.
- Lead and positively embrace continual improvement, process improvement and cost reduction initiatives throughout the business via the effective development and application and of lean principles.
- Continuously increase knowledge of TCT’s QHSE Management System policies/procedures and maintain a positive attitude towards the health and safety of myself and my coworkers.
- Take ownership of HSE issues and demonstrate enthusiasm and support for the HSE Management System.
- Other duties as directed by the Director, Technical Services.
Qualifications
- Comprehensive understanding of Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) maintenance, repair and overhaul methodology & related processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, geometric dimensioning & tolerance and industrial specifications and standards.
- Strong teamwork, planning, organizational, and analytical and decision-making skills are essential.
- Working knowledge of continual improvement, technical innovation, process excellence and lean principles.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

The minimum training and/or educational requirement for this role is University degree and 7 years minimum related experience or a combination of education and experience that allows the individual to adequately perform the role, as determined by the Directors of Field and Technical Services.
