People are living longer and we’re excited by the opportunities this brings to help people live their best lives. We’re here for everyone who wants to make the most of their time on the planet and leave it a little better than they found it – however grand or humble their ambitions.

We help people live their best lives. We help them with the big stuff, for the moments that matter: Pensions, Savings, Investments. At Aegon, we strive in creating a diverse organisation that plays a meaningful role in driving greater equity, inclusion and belonging.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Member Communications Manager to join our Workplace team, reporting to our Head of Member Communications. This role is vital to the Workplace business, ensuring we secure and retain clients.

You will partner with high-value TargetPlan clients to deliver tailored communication programmes. You will also collaborate closely with the Client Relationship Team to support clients and members within each scheme. Building strong relationships with clients and consultants is crucial to positioning Aegon as a communication leader in the DC market. The role also supports the Pension Geeks proposition and its growth through virtual and face-to-face events, and you’ll be part of the wider Workplace Communication & Education team. Transitioning clients to a digital model will be important, while also meeting them face-to-face where required - regular travel should be expected.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Working in collaboration with key clients to identify their communication objectives based on their specific characteristics and requirements.
  • Creating tailored communication programmes to meet individual client needs. Working closely with the Client Relationship Director to consider the full range of communication media.
  • Project manage and deliver communication programmes, including online and face-to-face member presentations to large audiences.
  • Manage and deliver multiple communication updates to clients throughout the lifetime of their scheme, e.g., fund or industry changes.
  • Proactively identify and resolve client communication issues as they arise.
  • Supporting new business activities by contributing to and participating in client pitch meetings.
  • Implementing communication programmes by producing emails/letters, customising literature, and presenting product information to members.
  • Help develop member documentation, including member booklets, plan summaries, and investment options.
  • Proactively contribute to the creative development of the DC communication service.
  • Adhere to internal procedures, including Compliance and peer review requirements at all times.
  • Approval of final versions of member documents following attainment of accreditation status.
  • Assist in testing and providing feedback to improve document preparation processes.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Outstanding communication and presentational skills, including sales pitch experience.
  • Experience translating complex pension concepts and technical material into clear, engaging member-focused content, adapting your communication style to suit different audiences.
  • An understanding of the corporate workplace savings market, products and regulatory developments.
  • An understanding of auto-enrolment, Master Trust, own trust, and contract-based arrangements and how to support employers with their duties.
  • Sound technical knowledge around member retirement options and workplace pension investment options.
  • Experience identifying and bridging knowledge gaps through compelling storytelling that makes workplace pensions accessible.
  • Ability to creatively generate ideas to meet diverse client needs across sectors.
  • Skills developing key relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Good planning and organisation capability with strong project management skills.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience of different types of media (web, print, social, digital, apps, etc.) and the advantages and disadvantages of each in different situations.
  • Working experience and knowledge of Aegon products, systems, processes, and infrastructure. Alternatively, you have the ability to quickly learn and understand new products, systems, and processes by working with specialist Aegon teams.

We’re serious about your future and our enhanced pension scheme is now in place. We ask you to contribute 3% of your salary to your pension and we’ll put in 9%. If you decide to contribute more, we’ll match it up to a combined total of 20% of your salary (that’s 7% from you and 13% from us).

A discretionary bonus, depending on personal and company performance.

36 days leave per year.
