Key Responsibilities
- Build, test and run the Android application and associated pipelines.
- Follow industry‑standard mobile architecture patterns in all development activities.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand business requirements, design solutions and ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Implement and maintain a strong testing framework to ensure reliability and quality of mobile applications.
- Own the end‑to‑end development lifecycle of the mobile application, including building, testing, packaging and deploying.
- Work closely with the Lead Android Developer and the broader product team to assess viability and feasibility of product features, and own development of specific features in the Android environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, collaborating with team members to find optimal solutions.
- Participate in the agile development process, including sprint planning, retrospectives and daily stand‑ups.
Qualifications
- Solid experience in Android development.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in Kotlin with best practices.
- Experience in Java is beneficial; primary skill should be Kotlin.
- Proficiency in integrating third‑party APIs and understanding networking concepts, including RESTful services and handling JSON/XML.
- Knowledge and experience of different testing phases in Android applications – unit testing, end‑to‑end testing and visual regression testing.
- Ability to identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimisations.
- Deep understanding and experience working with the Android SDK, including fundamentals such as app components, lifecycle, permission system and Jetpack libraries.
- Experience implementing UI for different Android screen sizes and components that adhere to a design system.
