About the Business

A fantastic opportunity to join a growing, multi-site group as a Group Financial Controller, based near Worcester. The business operates across manufacturing and has grown significantly through acquisition, with continued ambitions for organic growth and further M&A. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in a finance function that is evolving from a traditional, control-focused team into a more insight-led, commercially minded one, working closely alongside the Group Finance Director.

Main Duties:

  • Leading the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting cycle, and owning the month-end close timetable to ensure information is accurate, timely and well controlled
  • Preparing and reviewing management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, cashflow and variance commentary
  • Maintaining strong balance sheet control and overseeing the completion and review of reconciliations
  • Strengthening financial controls and driving consistent accounting treatment across sites, entities and newly acquired businesses
  • Supporting statutory reporting, audit, tax and wider group reporting requirements
  • Assisting the Group Finance Director with board packs, investor reporting and senior leadership updates
  • Leading the annual budgeting and operating plan process, alongside ownership of the rolling forecast cycle
  • Analysing monthly and quarterly performance to identify key drivers of revenue, margin, overheads, EBITDA, cash and working capital
  • Building financial models to support scenario planning, cashflow projections and wider strategic decision-making
  • Partnering proactively with operational and commercial leaders, using financial insight to challenge performance and identify opportunities
  • Improving visibility of gross margin and profitability by site, customer, product and revenue stream
  • Supporting pricing, tender analysis and broader profitability improvement initiatives
  • Driving standardisation of systems, processes and reporting, including supporting ERP integration and the move towards dashboard-led reporting
  • Leading and developing a team spanning Management Accountants, Transactional Finance and FP&A / Commercial Finance support
  • Owning short and medium-term cashflow forecasting, and monitoring working capital performance across debtors, creditors and inventory
  • Acting as deputy to the Group Finance Director where required

What We Are Looking For

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
  • Strong technical financial control experience gained within a multi-site or group environment
  • Proven experience managing and developing a finance team
  • Confidence acting as a business partner to operational and commercial stakeholders
  • Exposure to ERP systems and reporting tools such as Excel or Power BI is advantageous
