Main Duties: As a Finance Assistant, your main duties include:

  • Processing supplier invoices and handling staff expense claims
  • Creating and managing purchase orders through the accounting system
  • Acting as a point of contact for supplier queries, resolving them promptly and professionally
  • Completing regular bank reconciliations
  • Preparing supplier payment runs and issuing remittance advice
  • Supporting the month-end close by preparing assigned schedules, reviewing the numbers and helping keep the timetable on track
  • Assisting the wider finance team with year-end close activities and related reconciliations
  • Ensuring work remains in line with company policy and financial regulations
  • Championing best practice within the finance team so processes are followed consistently
  • Helping to document finance workflows – drafting procedures, suggesting improvements and recording changes
  • Getting behind finance process improvements and supporting positive change
  • Producing ad hoc financial reports and analysis, making sure the underlying data is accurate and reliable
  • Carrying out broader accounting and administrative tasks to keep the finance function running smoothly

What We Are Looking For: The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working within a finance team

  • Confident across Microsoft Office, and particularly comfortable in Excel
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
