About the Business
An opportunity to be a Commercial Management Accountant for an exciting tech company based in Solihull. They are looking for a driven and hardworking individual who is either a finalist or qualified accountant with solid month-end understanding, alongside budget and forecasting experience. Role Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts for the UK entity.
- Conduct detailed monthly payroll analysis to ensure accuracy and cost control.
- Prepare and maintain weekly cash flow forecasts to support liquidity planning.
- Conduct variance analysis to compare actual performance with budgets and forecasts.
- Provide clear financial commentary and insights to support decision-making.
- Consolidate financial data and reporting across departments.
- Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
- Support the business in planning and performance review cycles.
- Ensure compliance with local GAAP and group accounting policies.
- Support internal and external audits, liaising with auditors.
- Monitor, document, and improve financial processes and internal controls.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and statutory reports.
- Support the preparation and submission of IOSS returns and payments.
- Liaise with tax advisors and regulatory bodies to ensure full compliance.
- Support SAO (Senior Accounting Officer) compliance requirements for the group.
- Improve financial systems, reporting tools, and automation processes.
- Support system implementation and integration projects.
- Support the finance team with bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of records.
- Assist with ad hoc tasks and projects within the finance department as and when required.
Location / Office / Culture
This business offers flexible working as a hybrid role requiring 3 days in their Solihull office and 2 days at home. The company operates from their Solihull office consisting of a strong team of 15.
What We Are Looking For
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified or Finalist
- Exposure to budget & forecasting is crucial
- Exposure to payroll and cashflow is a bonus
- Familiarity with Unit4 finance systems (desirable), or similar ERP platforms.
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations.
- Excellent Excel skills, including data modelling and advanced functions.
