At Presidio, we're at the forefront of a global technology revolution, transforming industries through cutting‑edge digital solutions and next‑generation AI. We empower businesses—and their internal customers—to achieve more through innovation, automation, and intelligent insights.

Presidio is looking for an AWS Solutions Architect to join our UKI team, working across the full arc of client engagements, from early‑stage solutioning through to hands‑on delivery. You'll sit at the intersection of technical depth and client partnership, helping organisations across the UK and Ireland design and build cloud environments that are secure, scalable, and built to last. This is a role for someone who's equally comfortable whiteboarding a migration architecture with a client CTO and rolling up their sleeves to make it real. You'll report directly to the Pre‑sales & Cloud Engineering Director and work alongside a team of architects, engineers, and sales professionals who take delivery seriously.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the sales team on pre‑sales engagements, leading discovery sessions, shaping technical solutions, and producing architecture proposals and statements of work.
  • Design and deliver AWS cloud solutions across migration, modernisation, networking, and security workstreams, ensuring architecture decisions are grounded in client requirements and best practice.
  • Lead or contribute to cloud migration projects, including workload assessment, migration planning, tooling configuration (MGN, DMS), and cutover execution.
  • Architect secure, well‑governed environments covering landing zones, IAM frameworks, network topology, and compliance controls, particularly for clients in regulated industries.
  • Work with clients on container and modern application architectures, advising on EKS, ECS, and serverless patterns where appropriate.
  • Produce clear, accurate technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design decisions, runbooks, and handover materials that the client and delivery team can actually use.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the engagement lifecycle, managing client expectations and flagging risks early.
  • Support more junior engineers and architects on the team, sharing knowledge and helping build collective capability.
  • Stay current with the AWS platform and contribute to Presidio's internal practice through reusable assets, lessons learned, and technical community participation.

Required Skills And Professional Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a solutions architecture, cloud engineering, or technical consulting role, with a strong focus on AWS.
  • Demonstrable experience designing and delivering cloud migration projects, including lift‑and‑shift, re‑platforming, and hybrid connectivity scenarios.
  • Solid grounding in AWS networking: VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, route tables, security groups, and hybrid network design.
  • Working knowledge of AWS security services and best practices, including IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub, and CloudTrail, with experience designing for compliance in regulated environments.
  • Hands‑on experience with containerised workloads on AWS, including EKS or ECS, and familiarity with modern application deployment patterns.
  • Experience contributing to pre‑sales activities, including scoping, estimating, and producing technical proposals or SOWs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly to a range of audiences.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect at Associate level as a minimum. Professional level certification is strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK and Ireland to support client engagements.
  • Right to work in the UK or Ireland.
