We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Night Shift Support Worker to provide essential care and assistance during overnight hours. This role involves supporting children with special needs or in care, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the night. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, experience working with children, and the ability to work independently in a calm and organised manner. Duties

  • Provide overnight care and supervision for children, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
  • Assist children with daily routines, including personal hygiene, medication administration, and meal preparation as required.
  • Implement and follow individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs.
  • Monitor children's behaviour and wellbeing throughout the night, responding promptly to any concerns or emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided, incidents, and any changes in the child's condition.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, healthcare professionals, and team members regarding the child's progress or issues.
  • Ensure the environment remains safe, clean, and conducive to restful sleep for children.
  • Use IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes as part of daily routines.

Experience

  • Prior experience working with children is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of childcare practices and child development principles.
  • Experience in creating or following care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Ability to drive is advantageous but not essential; flexibility in transport arrangements may be required.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with families and team members.
  • Familiarity with IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes is beneficial.
