We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Metal Dresser to join our clients team in the heavy metal industry. The Metal Dresser will be responsible for preparing, finishing, and smoothing metal products to meet production and quality standards. This role involves the use of various tools and machinery to polish, grind, and clean metal surfaces, ensuring they are ready for further manufacturing processes or final product assembly.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Working with a variety of hand tools including electric grinders, pneumatic grinders and pad sanding tools.
- Mostly dressing welds on components of various shapes and sizes ready for painting.
- In some instances, parts are left with a dressed finish so must be of a high standard.
- Experience of working to and understanding engineering drawings is desirable but not essential.
- The ability to work unsupervised is required as although in a team of approx. 5 people, the individual will be required to work through various jobs without assistance.
- 1 year of previous experience working in a metal dressing finishing environment is essential for this role.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £13.73/Per Hour
Initially starting on day shift (Mon-Fri 8am-5pm) then a two shift rotation: Days 6am-2.30pm Monday to Thursday and Friday 6am-12.30pm. Lates 2.30pm-11pm Monday to Thursday and Friday 12.30pm-7pm.
