The Staff Accountant position assists in all accounting activities for the Hastings, NE operations, including compliance, daily GL maintenance tasks, month end closing procedures, and analysis of monthly results. The position requires a working relationship with different functional areas to ensure an in depth understanding of the financial results.

Position Responsibilities

  • Ensure the production of timely, accurate and relevant financial reports to plant management in order to facilitate understanding and analysis of the business and business opportunities.
  • Ensure that accounting practices are in compliance with all relevant accounting standards, and company values and practices.
  • Seek/participate in continuous process improvements.
  • Assist in annual physical inventory process and related reconciliation.
  • Perform the monthly accounting close process and journal entry postings.
  • Support the senior GL and senior cost accountants with ad hoc analysis of results, budgets, and forecasts.
