Position Overview:
The Driver and Installer will be part of the Hire Service Technician team and is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and driver support. This role plays a crucial role in delivering the highest standards of service to install hire equipment and support as a field-based technician. The goal is to maximize productivity, enhance the overall customer experience, and improve operational technical processes. Candidates should be near the Totton Depot SO40 postcode. The Driver must be able to drive a Luton van and hold the correct UK driver license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose system problems when servicing products and equipment on assigned projects and customer site visits.
- Attend customer sites to carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Customer Breakdowns, Warranty work, Hire, and Commissioning workloads.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as a trusted point of contact.
- Collaborate with hire desk, Sales, and Operations Team to establish strong communication channels and share key customer insights.
- Use cutting-edge software and technology, along with a variety of hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.
- Communicate updates with supervisors, regional hire and operations managers, senior technicians, and customers to drive continuous improvement.
Internal Controls and Administration:
- Work as a field-based technician and be able to drive in the UK. A Luton van or flatbed truck will be used in this role.
- Have strong knowledge of customer service principles.
- Possess effective communication skills.
- Demonstrate analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in using Apps, diagnostic software, and MS Office Suite.
Skills and Capabilities:
- Knowledge of the manufacturing industry is an advantage.
- Possess people and communication skills with a positive mindset.
- Hold appropriate skilled-based certificates, with F-Gas certification being an advantage.
- Gas Safe certification is an advantage.
- Be available to cover standby and call-outs on a planned scheduled basis, including weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Hold a UK driver’s license; a company vehicle will be provided, and the ability to drive a Luton van is required.
- Have confirmed Right to Work status for the country of application.
