- Monitor, inspect and assess fleet condition and operation making suggestions for corrective action where appropriate.
- Identify key revenue opportunities and work with other MFS employees to ensure retention of existing and development of new business.
What you will do:
- Installation, servicing, and repair of vehicle powered (diesel engine) road transport refrigeration units.
- Optimise and maintain engineer van stock to enhance service delivery to MFS customers.
- Ensure relevant safety checks are carried out on the company van daily.
- Maintain product and customer requirements knowledge to meet ISO9001 standards.
- Undertake company training and self-development through the Certi-Tech certification process.
- Liaise with central control regarding job start and completion times, downtime and overtime authorisation, cost updates and customer purchase orders.
- Complete all relevant paperwork and online requirements enabling central control and invoicing.
- Assist with planning of installations and undertake installations and commissioning.
- Perform other duties and projects which correspond to the general character of the position.
- Ensure adherence to company procedures in line with company policies, Health & Safety procedures and ISO9001 standards.
- Supervise apprentices and/or engineers in training where applicable.
- Ensure customer service is a priority and conduct & corporate image are first rate.
What you will bring:
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent with at least 3 grade Cโs or above.
- Qualified to 2078 Refrigerant Handling and 2079 F-Gas.
- Experienced in Electrics including 3 phase and brazing certified.
- Ideally completed Apprenticeship in Refrigeration/Air Conditioning/Commercial.
- Time served as a Refrigeration/Air Conditioning or Commercial Engineer with at least 5 yearsโ experience.
- Able to work on own initiative in a safe and professional manner.
- Commercial experience on mechanics including engines, compressors, and hydraulics.
- IT literate (Microsoft Office), PDA use.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Numerate, literate, methodical, systematic.
- Attention to detail and target driven.
- Customer Service Skills & Relationship building skills.
- Punctuality and efficiency.
- Clean UK driving licence.
- Extensive travel required, including overnight stays and working on customer sites.
- Needs to be physically fit to perform required tasks.
- Participation in additional on-call roster, including overtime, working nights and weekends.
