Position Overview: The Service Technician โ Unitary is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and technical support across the UK as a national role with travel. This role plays a crucial part in delivering the highest standards of service efficiently to maintain customer plant and equipment covered by our maintenance and service contract. The goal is to maximise service technician productivity and enhance the overall customer experience while improving operational technical processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose system problems when servicing products and equipment on assigned projects and customer site visits.
- Attend customer sites for Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Customer Breakdowns, Warranty work, Hire and Commissioning workloads. Flexibility of travel and overnight stays during weekdays will be required, along with being on an on-call rota when necessary.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, acting as a trusted point of contact.
- Collaborate with the Service desk, Sales, and Operations Team to establish strong communication channels and share key customer insights.
- Use cutting-edge software and technology, along with various hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications to diagnose and repair units.
- Generate regular reports on completed invoiced work orders.
- Foster strong relationships with customers through exceptional customer service.
- Communicate with supervisors, regional service managers, senior technicians, and customers on updates to drive continuous improvement.
Internal Controls and Administration:
- Proven experience in a service or field-based technician role.
- Strong knowledge of customer service principles.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate technicians to deliver customer experiences.
- Effective communication skills.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in using Apps, diagnostic software, and MS Office Suite.
Skills and Capabilities:
- Category 1 (I) F-Gas C&G 2079 Level 2 certification and hold COCN1, CIGA1 & ICPN1.
- Light Commercial knowledge mainly within the Retail sector with first-fix experience and handling of multiple callouts or jobs with a minimum travel time of 2 hours (up to 4 hours) in a single shift.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing industry at an intermediate to advanced level with proven experience working on Packaged Rooftops.
- People and communication skills with a positive mindset.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Able to cover standby and call outs on a planned scheduled basis including weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite.
- UK Drivers license as a company vehicle will be allocated.
- Right to Work status confirmed for Country of application.
