Trainor Stone & Tile is a Belfast-based specialist stone and tiling contractor working on prestigious commercial, retail and entertainment projects across the UK. Its portfolio includes projects for leading brands and developments including Harrods, Selfridges, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and King’s Cross.
As the business continues to grow, Trainor Stone & Tile is looking for an Assistant Estimator to join its Belfast-based commercial team.
The Role
Working alongside the estimating and commercial teams, the Assistant Estimator will assist with the preparation of accurate and competitive tenders from initial enquiry through to submission.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with take-offs and quantity measurement from drawings and specifications
- Obtain and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Assist with building up cost estimates and tender pricing schedules
- Support the preparation of tender documentation and submissions
- Review drawings, specifications and project information
- Maintain accurate tender records and pricing information
- Track the tender pipeline and submission deadlines
- Provide general support to the estimating and commercial teams
Requirements
- Degree/HND in Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Some exposure to estimating or cost planning preferred
- Strong numeracy and attention to detail
- Good Excel skills
- CAD/measurement software experience would be an advantage
- Good organisational and communication skills
- A willingness to learn and develop within the role
