As our business continues to grow across multiple markets and revenue streams, we’re looking for a Credit Risk Specialist to help shape and strengthen our credit risk and debt control framework. You’ll play a key role in safeguarding Trainline’s financial health — balancing smart risk management with commercial agility. Working collaboratively with Finance, Commercial, Product, and Data teams, you’ll help us optimise working capital, protect revenue, and enable sustainable growth. What you’ll be doing
- Credit Risk & Strategy
- Build a deep understanding of Trainline’s diverse revenue streams and billing structures, tailoring credit risk processes accordingly.
- Partner with Finance, Commercial, and Product teams to align credit practices with business growth objectives.
- Assess and monitor client creditworthiness — from established partners to new markets and revenue channels.
- Develop and maintain credit risk dashboards and exposure analyses to support data-led decisions.
- Identify, assess, and communicate potential credit risks, recommending proactive mitigations.
- Contribute to scalable, compliant, and commercially aligned credit policies.
- Debt Management & Operational Excellence
- Manage B2B and B2C partnership accounts across multiple currencies, ensuring timely billing and cash collection.
- Own aged debt reporting, reconciliations, and exposure analysis, driving visibility and accountability.
- Lead on complex or high-value client accounts, using commercial insight to resolve issues.
- Champion automation and process improvement within the Finance Transformation programme.
- Balance customer experience with strong financial control in all debt management activities.
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work cross-functionally with Commercial, Product, Customer Service, and Data teams to strengthen the end-to-end revenue-to-cash process.
- Act as a trusted advisor in contract and pricing discussions to ensure risk-aware decision-making.
- Help refine billing and revenue processes for greater transparency and scalability.
- Share knowledge and foster continuous improvement within the Credit and Finance team.
What we’re looking for
- 2+ years’ experience in credit control, credit risk, or accounts receivable in a complex, multi-currency business.
- Strong grasp of credit risk management principles and financial controls.
- Proven ability to manage credit exposure and collections across varied revenue models.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel and confidence with data-driven reporting.
- Strong communicator who can build trust and influence across teams.
- Solid understanding of accounting and month-end processes.
