Purpose of the Role

There is no better time for an ambitious mind to join our Affiliates team at Trainline. Our strategy is to diversify acquisition channel beyond Google with a key focus on Affiliates and partnership. We’re looking for a Senior Affiliates Manager to join our Performance Marketing team. This role is responsible for building a pipeline of affiliate and strategic commercial partners across multiple European markets as well as the US. We\’re looking for an Affiliates expert to develop strategy and lead a team that is responsible for onboarding the partnerships through to completion, translating partner success requirements to the product, marketing and technology teams.

You’ll lead with a mix of commercial creativity and analytical precision, taking ownership of Affiliates and partnerships from concept to conversion, and making a visible impact on business performance. Responsibilities

  • Drive the vision and roadmap for affiliate marketing across multiple markets, with a focus on scalable, sustainable growth strategies.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with Product, Tech, Commercial, and Finance teams to embed affiliate success into the core business.
  • Champion a test-and-learn culture—experimenting with innovative affiliate models, off-product integrations, and emerging platforms to drive incremental growth.
  • Mentor and inspire junior team members, fostering a culture of ownership, curiosity, and results within the Affiliates team.
  • Identifying, recruiting, negotiating, onboarding, and managing affiliates partnerships across multiple segments and European markets.
  • Ownership of the channel budget with Finance team across multiple markets.
  • Analysing data & monitoring the program’s performance. Measuring traffic, revenue, conversions, and new customers for each market.
  • Working with the Performance Marketing leadership and Commercial Partnerships to identify the product and marketing initiatives that will create the most value for partners and Trainline.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of scaling Affiliate programme across multiple markets with measurable revenue impact.
  • Strong ability to translate the data into strategy, turning performance insights into scalable initiatives with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams, including senior stakeholders, with a compelling Affiliate vision.
  • Comfortable challenging the status quo – a self-starter who brings new ideas to the table and executes them with discipline.
  • A doer’s mindset—you bring a bias for action, a sense of urgency, and the ability to move fast without sacrificing quality or focus.
  • Experience of and expert understanding of the Affiliate landscape, publishers, merchants, and networks – experience with Partnerize would be preferred.
  • Highly commercial and analytical, with demonstrated understanding of the underlying economic metrics involved in affiliate partnerships.
  • Creative thinker with ability to build a compelling proposition to influence internally and externally.
  • Strong ability and motivation to work to exceed financial targets and optimise performance.

Bonus if you have:

  • Experience with partnership marketing outside of affiliates (e.g., brand-to-brand deals, influencer collaborations).
  • Familiarity with travel, e-commerce, or marketplaces.
  • A passion for green mobility, digital innovation, or changing the way people experience travel.
