This job is a permanent full-time position located in Sale, Manchester, with a salary range of £30,000 - £35,000 (DOE). The role involves overseeing day-to-day office operations, facilities management, health & safety compliance, and some supplier relationships, ensuring the workplace supports both business needs and positive employee experience.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of People Services and the wider People Services team to ensure that all staff have the best employee experience possible. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on doing and organising, has a practical approach to problems, and enjoys creating a workplace that encourages collaboration.
Key Responsibilities- People & Culture Support: Work closely with HR/People teams to support onboarding, engagement, and wellbeing initiatives. Suggest and support office utilisation initiatives, regularly review employee data sources, and promote sustainability and environmental initiatives within the office.
- Office & Workplace Management: Oversee the day-to-day operation of the office(s), manage space planning, desk allocation, and office moves, act as the first point of contact for workplace queries, and support hybrid or flexible working arrangements.
- Facilities & Building Management: Manage relationships with landlords, contractors, and service providers, oversee all facilities services, ensure office equipment is maintained, and coordinate reactive maintenance works.
- Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) Compliance: Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, maintain risk assessments, coordinate Health & Safety inspections, and represent TQUK at a Group level Health & Safety Committee.
- Supplier & Contract Management: Manage office and facilities budgets, source and negotiate supplier contracts, and handle office purchases.
- Office Administration & Systems: Oversee office supplies and stock control, maintain accurate facilities records, and support company events and internal activities.
- Onboarding and Offboarding Support: Support the delivery process of IT equipment for new staff, maintain accurate records of hardware, and ensure a positive employee experience during offboarding.
- Proven experience in an Office Manager, Facilities Manager, or similar role.
- Strong working knowledge of health & safety requirements in a workplace environment.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond calmly to urgent issues.
- Facilities Management or Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH).
- Experience managing contractors and supplier contracts.
- Experience supporting hybrid or multi-site office environments.
- Proactive, practical, and solutions-focused.
- Approachable and service-oriented.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable working independently and making decisions.
- Willing to roll sleeves up and a logical thinker.
- Sense of humour and flexible with an ability to manage multiple priorities.
