Overview

Training Qualifications UK is a leading Awarding and End-Point Assessment Organisation. We work with over 500 schools, colleges, universities, and training providers across the world to provide qualification certificates, endorsements, and apprenticeships to over 150,000 learners. Training Qualifications UK (TQUK) is seeking multiple experienced subject matter experts to design and develop high-quality sample assessments for Level 2 qualifications.

The subject areas we are recruiting for are:

  • Culinary skills
  • Hospitality

This is a remote role that can primarily be undertaken alongside other professional commitments during evenings and weekends. Occasional meetings with TQUK will take place between the hours of 8.30-5.00pm Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • create assessments (question papers and mark schemes) based on the specifications for Level 2 Qualifications
  • review question papers and mark schemes to assist with reliable marking
  • follow an assessment construct provided to you by TQUK Assessment Developers
  • ensure assessments are valid, fair and reliable and adhere to regulatory requirements
  • attend a number of meetings, via Microsoft Teams, throughout the development.

Experience & Skills

Essential

  • Candidates must have a subject-related undergraduate degree
  • teaching experience in the relevant subject area
  • experience of an involvement in writing assessments and/or creating examination papers for awarding organisations
  • the ability to write to a brief/construct
  • the ability to receive constructive feedback and incorporate the feedback on draft assessments
  • the ability to meet deadlines and deliver work to a strict schedule
  • excellent attention to detail
  • excellent communication skills and organisation skills
  • good IT skills and a willingness to embrace new online systems.

Desirable

  • Experience working as an examiner, moderator or assessor
  • Thorough understanding of the requirements for Level 2 assessments.
