Training Qualifications UK (TQUK) is seeking multiple experienced subject matter experts to write and review high-quality sample assessments for Level 2 & Level 3 qualifications in the Health, Care and Science category.
The subject areas we are recruiting for is Sport, Leisure and Exercise Science
This is a remote, freelance role that can be undertaken flexibly alongside other professional commitments, including during evenings and weekends. Occasional meetings with TQUK will take place between the hours of 8.30am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Write and/or review assessments in line with the relevant qualification specification:
- Write assessment questions or tasks that meet the supplied assessment construct, subject content and assessment objectives or criteria
- Respond to feedback and revise assessment materials through the required development and quality-assurance stages
- Produce accurate mark schemes, indicative content or assessor guidance
- Review assessment materials written by others for subject accuracy, validity, level of demand, accessibility and markability
- Write assessment questions or tasks that meet the supplied assessment construct, subject content and assessment objectives or criteria
- Ensure assessments are valid, fair and reliable and adhere to regulatory requirements
- Attend meetings, via Microsoft Teams, to contribute to discussions where required.
Experience & Skills
Candidates must have:
- A relevant undergraduate degree and/or relevant professional qualification
- Recent industry experience in the subject area
- Recent experience of writing and/or reviewing regulated assessment materials for a recognised awarding organisation
- An understanding of validity, reliability, fairness, accessibility and appropriate level of demand
- The ability to work accurately from an assessment construct, specification or commissioning brief
- The ability to respond constructively to technical and editorial feedback
- The ability to meet fixed development milestones and deadlines
- Excellent written communication, organisation and attention to detail
- Confidence using Microsoft Word, SharePoint and online collaboration systems.
