We are looking for a technically-minded Digital Marketing Officer to join our team. This role is perfect for anyone with an analytical mindset who loves getting into the nitty-gritty of data, using digital tools to monitor performance, providing actionable insights that will drive business growth, and implementing those recommendations. As the Digital Marketing Officer, your mission is to bridge the gap between creative content and technical performance. You will be a whizz with workflows and king of conversion optimisation, helping drive our brand visibility, credibility and lead generation strategy through your knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Website Management and Governance
- Maintenance: Own our website, making regular updates to ensure adherence to technical best practice and compliance with regulations.
- Auditing: Maintain a rigorous team audit document to log all site changes. Conduct comprehensive quarterly proactive audits to identify and resolve bugs, broken links, or outdated information.
- Continual Improvement: Provide and implement recommendations on technical best practice to ensure we stay ahead of competitors and present ourselves as a modern, forward-thinking organisation.
- Journey Mapping: Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external agencies to identify and implement ideas that will enhance the user experience (UX) on digital platforms, ensuring a frictionless path from landing to conversion.
- Lead Generation: Work across the team to implement strategies that increase on-site engagement and boost the volume of Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs), alongside implementation of an effective lead scoring system.
- Analysis and Reporting: Conduct regular analysis of website and conversion rates, packaging findings and insights into reports that can be shared across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Keyword Research: Conduct regular keyword research to identify high-volume and high-intent keywords that will help us grow our visibility and increase traffic.
- Technical SEO: Implement SEO best practice on digital properties ensuring that elements such as robots.txt are in place, site speed is optimised, and title and meta tags are relevant and effective.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor keywords and report on performance of digital properties against them, identifying strengths and weaknesses and putting recommendations into action.
- Content Planning: Work with the team and across the business to ideate new content, provide optimisation advice on the finished pieces, and explore backlink opportunities to grow domain authority.
- Use of tools: Utilise Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and tools such as Ahrefs to identify growth opportunities, track competitor activity, and measure the ROI of marketing outputs.
- Inbound Marketing: Work with the team to build leads through the implementation of an inbound marketing strategy, including the creation and optimisation of website forms and automated nurture sequences.
- Email Health: Collaborate with internal teams to monitor domain reputation, manage bounce rates, and improve overall email deliverability.
- Form and Workflow Management: Create and maintain HubSpot forms and workflows to ensure effective lead management processes.
- Reporting: Build custom dashboards to visualise campaign performance, providing the team with data-led decisions to inform future strategy.
Key Requirements
- Essential: 2-3 years in a digital marketing role (or relevant marketing qualifications/degree), with an emphasis on technical implementation and search engine optimisation.
- Experience with SEO tools such as ahrefs and SEMRush, CRM platforms such as HubSpot, CMS’s like Squarespace and WordPress, and analysis tools like Google Search Console and Google Analytics.
- Keen interest in technology, user intent and user experience, and how the growing significance of emerging trends such as AIO can be effectively used.
- Ability to translate complex data sets into simple, actionable reports for the wider team.
Desirable
- Experience in or knowledge of paid digital advertising on platforms such as LinkedIn and Google AdWords.
