This vacancy is for an Apprentice Dental Nurse based in Barnoldswick. As an Apprentice Dental Nurse, you will assist the dentist in performing various dental care treatments and procedures. A fantastic opportunity has become available for a motivated individual to join our highly trained team at our dental practice in Barnoldswick. We are a busy, beautiful, three-surgery practice, primarily private with a small NHS contract. We offer a wide range of services from whitening to implants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist, therapist, and hygienist during all clinical procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety and Cross Infection policies within the dental surgery.
  • Assist with clinical procedures including fillings, root canal treatments, bridge and crown preparations, and extractions.
  • Conduct assessments, including minor oral surgeries.
  • Support the hygienist with scale and polish, oral health promotion, charting, and periodontal assessments.
  • Record and store notes, charting, medical histories, and radiographs accurately, using paper-based or digital systems.
  • Perform reception duties such as answering calls, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and recording them correctly.
  • Dispose of waste properly, including clinical, sharps, amalgam, and domestic waste.
  • Assist with patient preparation and equipment setup during x-ray procedures, and process/store images appropriately.
