Job overview: Applications are invited for the post commencing from 4th August 2027. The role is based in the two major teaching hospitals in Cardiff, serving a local population of 500,000 and providing tertiary referral service to 1.5 million.
Main duties of the job: The successful candidate will gain experience in elbow and shoulder replacement surgery and arthroscopic surgery. The candidate will take part in ongoing research projects. The post holder will operate at specialist registrar level and participate in the specialist registrar on-call rota at Llandough Hospital.

- Qualifications: MBBS or equivalent, Current GMC certificate, Training in Radiation Protection or agreement to attend next available course, Intercalated Degree MSc or PhD.
- Experience: Some experience in shoulder and elbow surgery.
- Skills: Evidence of effective team and multidisciplinary working, Effective and demonstrable communication skills in written and spoken English adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, Self-motivated and flexible approach to work, Values aligned to those of the Health Board.
- Clinical Governance: Evidence of participation in clinical audit and understanding role of audit in improving medical practice, Understanding of clinical risk management and clinical governance, Evidence of proactive engagement with appraisal and revalidation (or equivalent).
