We're looking for an experienced Buyer – Tools, Power Tools & DIY to lead one of our key categories and continue to build a compelling proposition that delivers exceptional value while driving profitable growth.

As Buyer, you'll own the commercial strategy for the Tools, Power Tools and DIY category. You'll be responsible for developing a balanced range that combines opening price point products, exclusive own-brand lines and recognised branded products to deliver an outstanding customer offer.

You'll identify market trends, negotiate with suppliers across the UK, Europe and the Far East, and use customer insight and commercial data to create ranges that maximise sales, margin and stock performance.

  • Build balanced assortments including entry-price, core value and premium branded ranges.
  • Source new products globally and identify opportunities for exclusive and own-brand development.
  • Manage supplier performance through regular business reviews and KPI tracking.
  • Work closely with merchandising, supply chain, quality, compliance and marketing teams to deliver successful product launches.
  • Drive continuous improvement in range productivity and commercial performance.
  • Ensure products meet required quality, safety and compliance standards.

You'll be a commercially driven Buyer with experience in discount retail or wholesale, with:

  • Experience buying within Tools, DIY, Hardware or Home Improvement.
  • Experience managing both branded and own-brand product ranges.
  • Strong commercial negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to turn data into commercial decisions.
  • Own-brand product development.
  • Promotional and seasonal planning.
  • Retail buying within discount, variety, DIY or general merchandise sectors.
