CARETAKER – START DATE: ASAP/October 2025

NJC Band 3 Points 6 11 (Actual Salary £26,015 – £28,170)

Hours: 36.25 hours per week – Full Time / All year round

Holiday: 5 weeks (26 days) per annum, increasing to 6 weeks (31 days) after five years’ service. All holidays to be taken in the school holidays.

Location: Altrincham College, Green Lane, Timperley, Altrincham, WA15 8QW

Altrincham College is open 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will share these hours with our Site Manager and other Caretaker. The average working day will be 8 hours per day (including a 45-minute unpaid break). Some flexibility will be required. This is a permanent position.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside our dedicated Site Manager undertaking all the usual aspects of site management to ensure our school is clean, secure and compliant at all times.
• Respond to changing priorities during the school day.
• Carry out the duties detailed in the attached job description to the highest possible standard.

We encourage someone who can “turn their hand to anything,” including building flat pack furniture, managing deliveries, fixing a broken sink, and helping supervise our cleaning team while engaging with students on duty at lunch time.
