Overview
Are you passionate about gymnastics and looking for a pathway into coaching? Trafford Leisure is launching the second round of our volunteer-to-paid coaching programme at our Move Altrincham site, and we’d love to hear from you! Our first round of volunteers have progressed brilliantly and are now about to complete their Level 1 qualification, meaning we are now ready for more. If you’re enthusiastic about gymnastics and keen to grow, this could be a fantastic next step. Whether you’re an ex-gymnast, have some gymnastics experience, or simply love the sport and want to get involved, this is an excellent opportunity to begin a coaching career with full support and funding.
Location: Move Altrincham
Salary: £12.90 Upon Qualifying
About Us: We are proud to continue our recruitment campaign for the new purpose-built gymnastics’ hub at Move Altrincham, part of a multi-million-pound investment in the Trafford community. What’s the Offer?
This is a structured pathway where you start as a volunteer, gain your Level 1 qualification (fully funded), and transition into a paid coaching role with guaranteed hours:
- Volunteers must be at least 15 years and 6 months old
- You must be able to commit to at least 3 hours per week
- After completing 40 volunteer hours, you’ll begin your Level 1 Gymnastics Coaching qualification – fully funded by Trafford Leisure
- Once enrolled on Level 1, you’ll be paid at the trainee rate of £12.60 per hour (new rates for 2026 TBC but this will reflect the Real Living Wage)
- Upon completing Level 1, you’ll be paid at the qualified rate of £12.90 per hour
- You’ll be guaranteed at least 3 paid coaching hours per week once qualified

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview on Saturday 25th April in the morning at Move Altrincham. We are looking for volunteering to begin in May time.
