Do you enjoy spending time outdoors and take pride in helping spaces look their best? Would you like to give back to your community and support a welcoming environment for others? Trafford Leisure is looking for volunteers to support with maintaining outdoor green spaces at Move Altrincham. This is a flexible, unpaid opportunity to get involved, meet others, and make a visible difference to your local environment.

As a Gardening Volunteer, you’ll support the upkeep of outdoor areas, helping to keep them safe, clean, and enjoyable for everyone who visits. Whether it’s weeding, planting, or general tidying, your time and contribution will help create a positive and welcoming space for the community.

Your tasks may include:

  • Supporting general gardening activities such as weeding, planting, and watering
  • Helping to maintain clean, tidy, and welcoming outdoor spaces
  • Assisting with seasonal tasks such as leaf clearing or basic upkeep
  • Contributing to improving the overall appearance of the site
  • Working alongside staff to support a safe and enjoyable environment

You will not be expected to:

  • Carry out heavy-duty landscaping or strenuous lifting
  • Use specialist or high-risk equipment
  • Work beyond your comfort level or without guidance
  • Take on responsibilities you feel unprepared for

This role does not require volunteers to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.
